New Puppy Guide
It's almost time to bring your new puppy into your home.
Both Golden Retriever and Goldendoodle puppies need the same basic care at this age.
We have created this helpful new puppy guide so you dont have to remember everything we will go over on pick up day. You can use it in advance to help answer some of your questions and start getting ready for the big day.
A printed copy will be in your packet when you get your puppy.
We are going to go over all of this on the day you get your new fur baby but take this opportunity to review and prepare questions.
Choose a name for your new puppy.
You will need an official name to call your puppy for most of the steps, some people have a name in mind and an some will want to wait and access the personality of their puppy more before deciding.
Schedule an appointment with your trusted Veterinarian.
Although your puppy has had a check up and first round of Vaccinations, it is recommended that you bring
your puppy to your trusted veterinarian for a wellness check. This will get your puppy use to going into their office and allow your vet to get your new puppy on file so they can schedule all the upcoming vaccinations. They can prescribe a flea and heartworm regiment also.
**Remember to bring the health record we provided in your packet so the vet staff will know what vaccinations and treatments have been administered.

Create an Embark account
Not only are your puppies parents genetics tested, but also your puppies DNA sample has been submitted to Embark Vet for analysis. On pick-up day your puppies DNA screening will be transferred to your account. (as long as it is finished being tested). So you will need an account.
**This service is already paid for, so there is no need to order a kit.
**Make sure to forward your puppies Embark Veterinary Report to your veterinarian so they can have it on file.
Order Puppy food.
You will be provided a sample as well as a few days supply of the dog food that your puppy has been eating. This will give you enough time to switch foods or get a larger bag of TLC.
We feed TLC Whole Life Natural Dog Food because it is very high quality, it is an all life stages dog food, and it is not expensive like other very high quality brands.
Currently your puppy is being fed 1/3 – 1/2 Cup 3 times a day. This will increase as your puppy grows and becomes increasingly more active. Most foods are 3.5 – 5 cups per day, check your dog food label to determine the proper amount to feed.
We are extremely pleased with the nutrition that TLC pet food has added to our dogs.

Order NuVet Plus Vitamins
Your puppy has been getting a daily vitamin supplement since they started the transition from mothers’ milk to eating solid food. I recommend keeping this vitamin in the nutrition plan. It will help continue to strengthen the immune system, help with a healthy shiny coat, and boost your puppy’s overall health.
Order it from www.nuvet.com use discount code 79883 or and if you like you can purchase a bottle to take home when you pick your puppy up. Visit our Shop to Purchase Vitamins. or Call: 1-800-474-7044
Register you puppy’s Microchip
(You will get your registration information on pick up day.)
Your puppy has a microchip identification implant. It has a prepaid lifetime enrollment.
Pet microchips are not tracking devices. They are radio-frequency identification (RFID) implants that provide permanent ID for your pet.
Because they use RFID technology, microchips do not require a power source like a GPS. When a microchip scanner is passed over the pet, the microchip gets enough power from the scanner to transmit the microchip's ID number. Since there's no battery and no moving parts, there's nothing to keep charged, wear out, or replace. The microchip will last your pet's lifetime. The microchip number must be registered in your name with your contact information so that if your puppy is lost whoever finds them can get them scanned and then they can contact you to return your puppy.
Lifetime Registration also means no more fees. Every pet microchip registration includes an Owner Certificate, Mobile Member Card, Training4Good™ series, SearchAlert™ and Pet Insurance Discount.
Please go to www.buddyid.com or call: 800-434-2843 to register your puppy’s microchip.

Snuggle puppy is a great tool for the transition from our pack to your pack.
Dogs and puppies are pack animals who are instinctively drawn to their mother and others in their pack. The Snuggle Puppy recreates that intimacy with physical warmth and a simulated heartbeat.
The result is a calmer, more peaceful pet-one that feels less loneliness, fear and separation anxiety.
If your picking up your puppy in person we can have a pre-ordered snuggle puppy here for you to pick up from us when you get your puppy that we will rub on the litter-mates and mommy too for that familiar scent.
Visit Our Shop to Purchase a Snuggle Puppy
If you order one from somewhere else bring it with you so we can get moms scent on it.
